In spite of his impoverished project housing and urban surroundings, Capt. Malik was able to develop his fishing skills in salt and freshwater fishing areas which were no more than 30 minutes from his home. As an avid sport fisherman with respect and safety, opportunity, success, and teamwork, he decided to announce his involvement in the community and get the youth to participate in fishing and the outdoors. Capt. Malik Wilder is the founder and certified fishing instructor at Fishing For HipHop, LLC. (FFHH) as well as a certified fishing instructor for the "Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs" national program in the Metro Atlanta area. With over 25 years of fishing experience, he recognized the need to raise awareness of sport fishing and boating. Capt. Malik has been featured on one of the World Fishing Network’s major fishing TV shows. He’s received conservationist awards and featured on various TV networks, magazines, and radio shows.
