About Me

Dr. Johnson is a school-based physical therapist working in a suburb of Washington, DC. She received her entry level MSPT at Springfield College and her DScPT at the University Of Maryland. She participated in the Leadership Education for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Program (LEND) in Washington, DC. She is an active member of the APTA within which she is a member of the Council on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Wellness; a member of the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy; and serves as chair of the Practice Development Committee for the School and Adult Adolescent with Disabilities Special Interest groups. She is also a member of the Academy of Prevention and Health Promotion Therapies. She has published in the following areas in peer reviewed journals: physical activity for children with disabilities, use of the Guide to PT Practice, case studies on work capacity evaluation for youth with disabilities, as well as fact sheets for the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy. Her research interests include clinical decision making, health promotion/wellness, and promoting best practice amongst school-based therapists. She has presented nationally and virtually and enjoys sharing knowledge in the hopes of supporting best practice for children and youth with disabilities.
