Sanguinaria Canadensis is a bold necklace inspired by Bloodroot, a fleeting spring ephemeral that completes its life cycle in the brief window between frost and forest canopy. This piece mirrors my own journey as a young artist, racing to bloom before the shade closes in.
Each hand-pierced acrylic leaf—cut from found acrylic discovered on a woodland walk—celebrates individuality: no two are alike, yet together they embody a shared urgency to grow and flourish. Suspended from a repurposed chain and assembled with reclaimed brass wire, the necklace carries the energy of Bloodroot: resilient, precise in its timing, and unapologetically alive.
It’s a wearable reminder to focus energy where it matters, embrace persistence, and honor cycles of growth and rest.
