Summer is Camp time for me! I'll be at a lot of camps and teaching tons for the Youts. I'll have more adult classes on offer in the Fall.

  • Mending Matters: The Logic and Skills of Fixing with Jay Reddish

    ONLINE ONLY

Starts Thursday, August 20, at 6 pm ET Four Week class

Learn basic embroidery and repair techniques while creating a fabric mending book sampler, a keepsake that students can reference for future fixes. Using thread, fabric, and a little patience, we’ll practice useful stitches and talk about the life cycle of our clothes: why they wear out, how to fix them, and when it’s worth it to try. Participants will gain the skills to repair most common rips, holes, and stains—and the confidence to decide when and how to mend.

This small group class is presented in collaboration with John C. Campbell Folk School and Lessonface.

  • Tuesday Evening Intermediate

    8 Sessions, Tuesdays, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

    Class Dates: 8/11, 8/18, 8/25, 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29

This intermediate class focuses on developing your artistic voice through design principles and personal style exploration. Build upon foundational skills with three distinct projects, each deepening your expertise in hand tool techniques (sawing, piercing, filing, sanding, texturing) alongside soldering and stone setting. Projects rotate – repeat the class to master new approaches! There is an emphasis (because of the instructor) on alternative materials and approaches.

Workshops
