Touchpoint is a series of over twenty sculptural light switch plates and outlet covers, permanently installed at the Lamar Dodd School of Art and the Thomas Street Art Complex at the University of Georgia. The work transforms ordinary household fixtures into moments of reflection, asking viewers to pause and consider the act of turning on a light—not just as a simple gesture, but as a point of connection to vast systems of energy, infrastructure, and environment.
Each piece was created from recycled and upcycled materials, drawing on my interest in mid-century design, standing stones, and the small rituals of daily life. By embedding art directly into functional objects, I invite people to touch, use, and live with the work, bridging the gap between utility and contemplation.
The series reflects my broader practice as an artist: connecting people to their environments through material and physical interaction.
