The Einstein Nexus Book 1
Begins the adventure, as two teenagers (and their helpful AI) discover the plans for a device, which in their hands, taps the time-travel effects of the Einstein-Rosen Bridge.
Adventure ensues until an accident causes an unplanned, prolonged time-shift.
The Einstein Nexus Book 2
Paul and his friend Rudy have to rescue their marooned in time grandpa and the physics professor, Dr. Pratt. Another adventure results which Rudy describes as:
Wow, Indians with tomahawks fighting robots? I'd pay to see that.
Then things get serious. Another experiment causes an area of expanding time-shift which threatens to engulf the Earth and return it to the moment of the Big Bang.
The Einstein Nexus Book 3
With the professor detained by the government, it was up to Paul and his grandpa, Agonistes, to try to destroy the area of expanding time.
They tried and failed and had to build a refuge on the farm to await the coming time-shift. Supplies running out, they use Dr. Pratt's adjustments to the device to escape the area, only to end up on an Air Force base awaiting the final sweep of the merging time-shift areas. Paul watched the area
approaching:
The afternoon seemed normal, hot and humid. They all sat at the entrance to the underground area watching. Around three they heard a rumble to the north, like approaching thunder. Soon they could see a cloud front. By the time it was clear that it was an approaching time-shift area, it was also clear that it was coming fast. Already, some of the men started walking back to the underground.
Paul didn't move, yet. He could see a long way across the flat land, probably miles, to the disturbance. It was another minute before he could clearly make out the delineation of the roll cloud-like front that seemed to always precede such a region. It was almost black in its appearance, lit from within by huge bolts of lightning, which cast crazy, dancing shadows on the land in front of the roll cloud. Even in the bright sun, the dancing shadows were visible.
Paul knew, as Dr. Pratt had explained to him, that the intense lightning was an effect of the time-shift. As time slowed behind the front, a boundary layer was created that had a similar effect on free electrons as relativistic effects had on accelerating electrons. As an electron nears the speed of light, time slows down and it gains an equivalent mass and that was similar to what was happening in the roll cloud. These time-slowed, “massive” electrons, said Dr. Pratt, can now generate the huge electrical discharges seen in the boundary region quite efficiently.
But having it explained to Paul was nothing like seeing it coming. It was like the end of the world being exposed to a pure, intense … Paul lost his train of thought until someone yelled.
“Judgment,” thought Paul.
The wind was gusting and the roaring was like standing at the base of a huge waterfall of noise. The roll cloud was close now and towered high above. As more of the men rushed past Paul, he became aware of his surroundings and turned himself, to hurry back inside.
This is not the end, but a good place to stop this description. If you would like to read the trilogy, see below.
