Meet Miu: The Curious Kitten Who Taught Me What "Enough" Really Means

Every author big or small has a moment where a story stops being just words on a page and starts feeling like it belongs in the world. For me, that moment came with Miu.

Miu and the Missing Morning started as a simple idea: a fluffy orange kitten who loves her favorite sunny spot by the window. But somewhere between the first sketch and the final page, it became something more personal — a story about what happens when the thing you've been guarding for yourself turns out to be even better when it's shared, like how she came to my room, jump in to the window wherein my mini book shelf located. I noticed she love that spot so I moved my books and create a spot just for her to have a better view outside.

Why I wrote this story:

I've spent the last few years building a career out of small, careful pivots — from restaurant management, caregiving to virtual assistance, from corporate structure to freelance freedom. If there's one thing that journey taught me, it's that the things we hold onto tightly out of fear are rarely as valuable as the things we're willing to open up.

I wanted to write a children's book that carried that lesson in a way little ones could actually feel, not just hear. Miu doesn't get a lecture. She gets a quiet morning, a tiny grey kitten in her favorite spot, and a choice. That's it. The rest is just watching her work it out — the way kids do, in their own time, in their own way.

What's inside the book:

Miu and the Missing Morning is an 8-page illustrated eBook designed for children ages 3 to 7, perfect for:

Bedtime reading when you want something short, sweet, and meaningful

Classroom or story time settings where a clear lesson matters

Quiet afternoons when your little one needs a gentle, colorful distraction

Each page was illustrated with warmth in mind — soft morning light, cozy textures, and a fluffy orange cat who I hope feels as real to your child as she did to me while I was making her.

A small lesson, a big feeling:

If there's one line I hope stays with readers after they close the book, it's this: the best things in life are even better when you share them. It's simple. It's something most adults still struggle to practice. But kids? Kids get it instantly, especially when it's wrapped in a story about a kitten and a sunbeam.
