About Me

Anura Guruge is a writer. He writes because he loves writing. This is his 40th published book. He also has upwards of 375 published articles, not to mention a daily online blog. Though he could have gotten by just on his writings (on boring technical stuff), his 40-year working career was split between high-tech consulting, public seminars (on both sides of the Atlantic), and relentless typing. He started programming computers in 1969 (aged 16). His expertise and heart were in BIG, room-sized IBM mainframe computers of yore. He has written on an array of subjects spanning computer networking, popes, comets, pain, meditation, and Maine’s ‘Bold Coast’. The travel guides have proved to be an unexpected hit. He, on a daily basis, ambles many a mile (with his two dogs) and takes a lot of photographs (mainly for his blog). He has a website/blog at: guruge.com
