This is about trigger warnings. The first book has a bit under 10% smut, per word count. However that is not counting flirtations. There are other situational triggers as well, as in, they are not all sexual. It's bad, really really bad. A reason the word 'depravity' is used.
And here is our shopping list, I mean trigger warnings....
Polyamory, as in a real attempt at a true 'why choose?'. I say attempt because even this is not exactly as it would be in our world. We do not have mating bonds that can be conjured or rites to share magic. However, lots of the long lived folks really enjoy an orgy and/or having multiple partners. I mean the MC was trapped right before being able to go out and explore the world so, eh?
Blood play/magic both sensual and not, consensual with our MC but references to instances where its not, cause power hunger ass holes.
Religious manipulation, so to be carful here with spoilers, you're probably not going to be mad. Their not a god, they just needed to help and well there was a religion already developing around them from all the help they already did and so ya, why not help the damned witchlet. She helps everyone else! Some downsides are there.
"Monster" love interest. Teeth, claws, skin like a blue black pitch, eyes like milky deep blue, flashing, literally, like a storm. This character is intersex, if you have issues, leave? They present masc. I do not condone fetishizations of beings, we can be happy that they are like that, praise them, but we do not fetishize unless agreed on by the one being the fetish. Wanted to be clear because that does happen. Leading into...
Tragic as fudge back stories for many characters. A war happened, this world should never have known worldly plight. Yes evil kings, maybe, a few attempts at continental domination that was stamped out rather quickly but never did this place have a word for genocide before those things appeared. So yeah, it gets pretty rough, been pretty rough. It will get better and there are treats along the way.
Magic folk orgies, all consenting adults, which most beings agreed with at least a quarter into their life span is sufficient.
A bit heavier, slavery, cannibalism, and genocide will be present in this series. Same with experimentation. Atomic war on a level we have never seen and I hope we never do. Please do enter with cation but know it is not to rub it in your face. It is to show the emotional volatility of characters and internal struggles. The battle of not wanting to do something that needs to be done and it reminding you of another time you felt forced. The odd rage that can fill you or the absolute panic and fear, the need to run as fast as you can. To show you that even 'monsters' can be hurt and turned into something far far worse than what we made them out to be.
Not currently but later there will be more, there are mild betrayals and lies, some twists of things, but done with reason and purpose. There are accidental situations leading to a lack of privacy but no harm was intended. It is as life should be, learn as you go when you can.
I did attempt to keep that a bit 'lite' with some little jokey jokes but well it's not exactly a light story. Any concerns or insights from people with experience with any of the above, please share so we can address any issues head on and obtain clarification. I do not mean any disrespect nor to downplay anything that has happened in reality. This is all a book. Yes some instances from my life will make an appearance but there is not one person that matches with any single character, nor situation. There are tropes but multifaceted as are we all.
