About Me

My name is Chrissy. I grew up in Ohio and moved to Arizona to teach Kindergarten back in 2010. Teaching Kindergarten in Arizona was such a fun and challenging learning experience. I had the privilege each year of teaching Kindergarten English Language Learners. For 6 years, I taught at a Title 1 school with a majority Hispanic population. And 3 years after that, I moved districts and taught at a Title 1 school with a high refugee population. Most of those years, I had at least 10 different home languages represented in my room! I felt like I was really making a difference, and I know I was, but really when I think back… my students were the ones making a difference in my life. They taught me about compassion, perseverance, and love. Together, we all grew!

FILLING A NEED

It is a great feeling to make a positive impact. As a new teacher in Arizona, I found myself creating resources to use in my room to support my students’ learning needs. As the years past, I found myself falling in love with creating; creating to fill a gap, to reach my students at their level, to challenge them in fun and effective ways. I found TpT and thought to myself, “Maybe I can share what I’m making with others, because if I’m filling a need in my classroom, then maybe other teachers would benefit as well!”

HOME & FAMILY

Fast forward to now (2024), life brought me to Michigan with my amazing and supportive wife, Ashley, and I have been doing a K-1 loop with my students every other year. I am enjoying the beautiful seasons here, just not the cold and snow, even though it’s pretty! My Arizona blood just can’t seem to get used to it, LOL.

We live out in the country on 5 acres with lots of animals: 3 dogs (Griffey, Gus, and Joey), 3 cats (Boots, Jersey, and Haven); and 2 guinea pigs (Billie and Stevie).

We are also thrilled to announce that we just had a baby boy, Luca, in September. He is the cutest baby and makes us smile all the time.
