On The Mind: Awareness vs. Consciousness

When I think of the word "awareness", I think of singularity and non-duality. On the other hand, when I think of the word "consciousness", I think of plurality and a dualistic, embodied process.

Thought both can be connected and related in many ways, but they are not the same.

One entails passivity while the other entails positive action.

I used to think that they're both related and connected to each other. Oh, how mistaken I was!

It is a very important step to be aware. It is a step further to be a fully conscious being.

When I think of awareness, I instantly think of worldly happenings, the physical realm. Focusing only on the "awareness" level of our being is very limiting. Too much attachment to it can hinder us from reaching more advanced levels of our being.

Being conscious is more related to higher states of being. It comes with the understanding that we are all one. There is no "me" and "you". There's only "us". In this state, the ego falls and our true essence shines.

Reaching a state of consciousness is not an easy road. It does not happen overnight. There's no magic pill or easy fix for it. One has to stay committed to daily effort and work.
