About Heidi
Hi, I'm Heidi Burrows, author of the Simple Prepared Living series and creator of Heidi's Happy Acre Farm.
My passion for simple prepared living grew from my love of homesteading and the belief that a well-run home starts with practical everyday habits. Whether it's growing food, preserving harvests, managing a pantry, planning meals, or learning traditional skills, I believe preparedness begins with the simple things we do every day.
At Heidi's Happy Acre Farm, I embrace a lifestyle centered around self-reliance, stewardship, and creating a home that is both welcoming and prepared. Through years of homesteading, gardening, food preservation, and household management, I've learned that preparedness doesn't have to be complicated or overwhelming. It can be built one small step at a time using the resources and skills we already have.
Through my books, workbooks, and practical resources, I help individuals and families simplify meal planning, organize their homes, build pantry systems, develop practical life skills, and create greater peace of mind through everyday preparedness.
My approach combines homesteading principles, practical organization, and real-life solutions that fit into busy schedules and modern lifestyles. My goal is not perfection, it's helping people build confidence, resilience, and a stronger foundation for everyday life.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me working on projects around the farm, tending gardens, preserving food, hunting for vintage treasures, creating new resources, and building The Prepared Acre, a homestead-inspired shop focused on simple prepared living.
My philosophy is simple: Preparedness isn't about doing everything at once, it's about building something that works, one step at a time.
