About Me

Arturo J. Uzcategui is a surf coach, U.S. Army veteran, and lifelong student of human performance who began surfing as an adult and learned firsthand how difficult progression can be without the right guidance.

Unlike surfers who grew up in the ocean from childhood, Arturo started later and had to build his skills through years of trial and error, coaching, technical study, physical training, and relentless self-analysis. That journey led him to develop a smarter system for adult surfers who want faster progress without wasting years repeating common mistakes.

His background includes professional fitness education, corrective exercise, surf coaching, biomechanics, breathwork training, and real-world experience surfing a wide variety of waves across California, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Australia, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

Through that process, Arturo realized that most adult surfers do not fail because they lack talent — they fail because they lack structure.

That insight became the foundation of Surfing Without Guesswork.

Today, Arturo focuses on helping adult surfers improve through practical systems that combine wave knowledge, equipment understanding, movement mechanics, mindset, and smart progression strategies.

His mission is simple:

Help surfers stop guessing, progress faster, and enjoy the journey more.
