You may be wondering what inspired my interest in holistic nutrition, I will say that it was quite a journey. I have always considered myself a foodie & loved being in the kitchen with my grandmother. My grandmother made the best recipes & allowed me to assist her with cooking from time to time. Growing up in my household we did not eat the healthiest foods & as a result my close relatives were diagnosed with life threatening chronic diseases.
As a teenager I knew that I wanted to take preventative measures to reduce my risks of developing chronic diseases & to break this generational curse. Oftentimes I would randomly research methods on how to reduce the risks of common health issues until one day I was finally able to connect the dots & began to understand the relationship between health & nutrition. From that point I made the decision to begin my journey to becoming a Certified Holistic Health & Nutrition Coach.
In 2018 I earned my Masters degree in Social Work & worked as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Many of my clients struggled with food related health issues which ultimately also affected their mental health status. Being in the field of therapy really helped me to understand the relationship between food & mental health which has inspired me even more to take on this journey.
