Your homeschool life just got easier.

In The Margins is a curated list of resources by homeschool moms, for homeschool moms. Instead of vetting podcasts, books, movies, and activities – let us do it for you!

The freedom to homeschool our children is a beautiful thing. But in the busyness of maintaining a home, raising young children, discipling growing teens, late nights at the ball field, and afternoons shuffling from activity to activity, our beautiful, elaborate homeschool plans that were formed in late-spring begin to collect dust on our Pinterest boards. When the school days begin to fill up fast, the subjects that we consider “riches” begin to feel like something we’ll never get to. Poetry, picture study, and seasonal handicrafts must come second to the necessities like math, reading, and writing instruction. Simply put: there never seems to be enough time.

But what if you could fit in all the beautiful and rich subjects that you long to get to? The good news is that you absolutely can. The key? Put these subjects in the margins of your day. When you’re in the car on the way to practice, listen to a chapter of a seasonal audiobook. When you are busy preparing a meal for a friend, put on the seasonal picture book playlist. Throw all of your craft supplies in a backpack and complete your fall crafts in the bleachers before a game, under the tent before a meet, or in the small pocket of time in the parking lot before 4H club.

Welcome to your themed homeschool menu.

Adding these things to your already packed schedule seems like a great idea. But it’s easy to be overwhelmed by all of the things you could include. Prescreening books, podcasts, movies, and music takes hours. In The Margins takes the heavy lifting out of the way for you. With In The Margins, there’s not a strict daily schedule for you to follow, so don’t worry about feeling “behind”. Simply take a look at the menu, pick the next right thing for your family, and trust that you’ve genuinely found the open-and-go learning you’ve been looking for. Do as much or as little of the study as you want, without spending hours reading booklists, pinning crafts on Pinterest, and scrolling Instagram for your next great idea.

Just scan the QR code at any time to pull up your study and click the next link. Before you pull out of the driveway, click the next link in the podcasts category, the hymns playlist, or the next audiobook. When you’re waiting in the parking lot for that next appointment to begin, pull up your picture study and check one more thing off of your list. Moments that were once lost are now minutes added back to your school day.
