About Me

Assalamu’alaykum, I’m Nana — a literacy specialist in training, currently completing my dyslexia assessor qualification, with over 14 years of experience teaching in private, state, and Islamic schools across the UK and Middle East.

I hold a BA in Early Childhood Studies, a Montessori Diploma, and a leadership qualification but more importantly, I understand the real struggles parents face when teaching children to read, especially those with learning difficulties, EAL needs, or phonics gaps.

My work through How To Teach My Ummah is guided by one simple belief:

Every Muslim child deserves to thrive — in both their deen and their dunyah.

That’s why I create structured, Islamically aligned resources that make literacy feel achievable, peaceful, and purposeful, without confusion, compromise, or overwhelm.

You're not alone. I'm here to help wiith clarity, compassion, and tools you can trust.
