My wackiness continues in retirement...

Hi! I’m Laurie. After nearly 40 years of teaching kids ages 5 to 15, retirement hit—and so did the full force of my ADHD. Like many of my students, I’ve found that ADHD can be both a creative superpower and a total chaos agent. Without the structure of a 4:30 a.m. alarm and a classroom schedule, I needed something to channel all that energy. My husband—working from home—needed me to find it fast.

Sewing became my escape. A way to quiet the noise and let my creativity take the wheel. I often sew into the wee hours when the world is still and my brain finally settles. What you see in each piece is the result of that late-night focus: one-of-a-kind designs with a touch of wacky, a lot of heart, and a whole lot of unexpected materials. Curtain valances, table runners, pillow shams—you name it. Try to guess what each piece is made from!

I hope you find joy and a sense of uniqueness when you wear one of these unconventional creations. Clothing should be an expression of personality, not just a trend. And while there may have been a few swear words stitched into the process, every piece is made with love, grit, and a whole lot of soul.

Thanks for being here.
