About Me
Robert Porter is a senior operational leader with almost two decades of experience across UK transport, infrastructure and safety-critical environments.
Having led complex, multi-site operations and workforces of up to 200 people, I bring practical experience in quality management, safety assurance, risk management, compliance, auditing and continuous improvement. My career has been built around turning policies and standards into effective working practices that deliver measurable results.
My ISO books are written for people who need more than a technical explanation of a standard. Combining structured research with real operational insight, I explains what each requirement means, why it matters and how it can be applied in the workplace.
My writing is clear, practical and grounded in experience. Whether you are a manager, auditor, quality professional, student or business owner, these books are designed to help you understand ISO standards with confidence and use them to improve real organisations—not simply to pass an assessment.
My believe that standards should support people, strengthen organisations and encourage better decisions. My guiding principle is simple:
“You’re never wrong to do the right thing.”
