My journey into landscape design began with training at Auckland Botanic Gardens, where I developed a strong appreciation for plants, garden design, and the natural environment. Since then, I've worked throughout Auckland, providing landscape planning, consultation, and implementation for projects ranging from small residential gardens to large rural lifestyle properties.

I believe every garden has the potential to become something special. I enjoy working closely with clients to create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful but also practical and suited to their lifestyle. Seeing a garden transformed and watching it mature over time is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge of garden design and have taught community education classes in landscape design throughout South and East Auckland. I also run the Ian Wilson Garden Design YouTube channel, where I share practical gardening advice, landscape design ideas, plant knowledge, and information on New Zealand's unique flora to help others create gardens they can enjoy for years to come.
