Yes. It's $75 USD and you can add that on now or later. I'll discuss with you ahead of time what the spine and back cover will look like to complement the front cover, and what I'll need for you are the full specs (trim size, page count, cream or white paper, and a template if you have one from Ingram, D2D, or KDP).
-
Yes. If sequels featuring the same model is important to you, please feel free to check with me before buying to ensure there are other poses with that model available.

eBook sized covers are typically $179 ($199 minus $20 because some elements are decided upon based on the first cover). Covers with a lot of custom painting, multiple premium photos, and extra drafts are $299 ($349 minus $50 for being a sequel). All prices are in USD. There is the opportunity to bundle on paperback wraps, audiobook covers, and promos if you prefer--it ultimately saves you if you want all the bells and whistles to get a bundle.

Yes! I still have the file and it's reserved for you. Please reach out to me--you can reply to the email I would've sent to you when you ordered it. I might have to hunt down the font used or find a comparable one but I'm eager to get these to you. There are many of you out there, please don't hesitate to touch base!

I don't know! They pop up when I have spare time (rare) or when I need to shake things loose in my brain while tackling client covers. Check back often!
-
I cannot predict that. It depends on a) whether existing clients scale back the work they hire me for and b) what my writing income is like (apologies but I certainly HOPE I won't be able to open to new clients this year).
If you've found my site because I came personally recommended to you by another publishing professional, I ask that they reach out to me to confirm they've made this recommendation. And if you buy or have bought a premade cover, yes, that makes you a client!
This is the best compromise I can make to accept new work while ensuring I have time for my existing clients. Freelancing is supplemental income for me; I am primary a writer and I don't want to become overbooked and affect everyone's schedule.
-
Yes. I would rather people get it free and use it to make everyone's lives easier than solely have it for my client. If you are a client, please check it out, especially if you come to me for formatting.

This is covered in detail on my Terms of Service page but in short: FUCK NO.
I do try to avoid profanity on this site but I cannot underscore enough how anti-genAI I am.
-
Yes. On your copyright page is fine--either © [year] Skyla Dawn Cameron or Indigo Chick Designs.
You do not need to add me as the illustrator/editor on Amazon or the like. (In fact, I'd prefer if you didn't--that spot is for actual book illustrators and for editors of anthologies they've curated. As I am also a writer, it makes things confusing for my readers when they look up my books and find other people's instead of mine.)
-
I am willing to talk about it on a case-by-case basis with existing clients, however my rates are higher than the ones listed here and will depend on how many decorative elements you needed added to the interior and how many revisions passes are necessary.
It is also up to you to contact the specialty printer you're using and provide me with the exact specs for layout and/or cover art templates.

I cannot offer this anymore. Once in a while it was fine but when I started getting several clients back to back needing things turned around almost immediately to meet their preorder dates, it had a negative ripple affect across my schedule because it required me to drop all client work in progress to accommodate them.
I ask that when making your plans and schedules: for pre-release services like ebook formatting, print interior formatting, full-wrap cover add-ons et, *please* build ten business days *at a minimum* for turn around time on my end so I don't have to rush and cram it in, and affect everyone else I'm working for (or potentially work 12-hour days).
If you absolutely find yourself in an emergency situation, please reach out to me regarding your deadline, and we can talk, but I will be instituting a rush fee if you request a turn around time shorter than that estimate of ten business days. The fee will vary but will account for my current workload and how many extra hours I have to put in to accommodate the project.

You are welcome to however I will need clarity on delivery dates so I know where to slot them into my schedule. Vague "whenever" means it goes to the bottom of the list--please at least give me a rough due date. If booking work that happens just prior to publication, such as interior formatting or full-wrap cover add-ons, please be firm about these plans. Booking my time and then not being ready means I potentially miss out on other work. If this happens in excess, I will only accept one project at a time from you and will not permit pre-booking.
-
When booking work, please send separate emails for each project so I can keep things in once place instead of hunting down information for one project from several different places. (I have some folks who will literally send several emails like "Subject: Cover art booking, May 2025" and "Subject: Kickstarter graphics booking, Summer 2025"--it's fine! It allows us to keep everything straight, don't feel bad that you've sent me six emails at once, they go into my work folder and I won't see them until later anyway.)
Please try to keep our conversations about your projections confined to the email chain for it.
