My name is Julia. I am a wife to my childhood friend and mother to my two amazing crafty girls.

As far back as I can remember (and with the help of all the things my mom saved over the years) I have enjoyed creating things. Due to my love of arts and crafts, I went and achieved my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University where I focused in ceramics and fiber arts. When I graduated, I wasn’t sure where life would take me especially when it came to what I got my degree in.

Life eventually led me to program for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia-a place where my creativity could be used. During my 10 years of working in the industry, I rose from just an activity assistant to eventually become the director of the program with the company I was working for. I then went on to become the director of an adult daycare program that catered to the elderly and those with dementia.

Then 2020 happened. My day care center was closed due to mandates and eventually the company decided that my center would close permanently.

With my gifted time, I returned to what I loved doing. I started my blog Inflorescence Designs where I share sewing and crafting ideas, tutorials and patterns. My tagline is “Starting to bloom by choosing joy,” and that is exactly what I am doing. I love getting to do what brings me joy every day.
