Hi friends, welcome to our Mission Updates.
More than an author of inspirational books I am a Pastor and a Missionary. One of my desires is to see Jesus being known in places He is barely known yet - being dubbed as the Unreached and Less-Reached people groups.
For 7 years from 2012 to 2019, I and my family experienced being Tentmakers (Self-supporting), doing Mission in Cambodia. We planted a church and helped local and international churches as well, and we saw how God worked mightily and miraculously in various ministries in which we were involved in.
It's a joy to see Cambodians come to know the Lord, knowing that they came from a Buddhist background. We witnessed some of them develop from "barely can speak English" young people from the provinces to become professionals excelling in their different fields, one of them is now an author too! (Both in Khmer and English languages). Our ministries did not only offer spiritual enlightenment but a holistic one - ministering to all areas of the people.
We teach English and computer classes and at the same time coach them in Life Skills and help them develop their personality and life perspectives. We have dorms near Public High Schools, pre-schools, and English tutorials in the villages, and more dorms in the Capital City of Phnom Penh to cater to the lodging needs of these students as they embark on their university studies and finish their degrees.
My family and I went back to the Philippines in the later part of 2019 and we stayed there for 5 years, planted a church in Iloilo City, and helped train leaders and church planters. Together we started a total of 7 local churches in Capiz and Iloilo provinces. We prayed for many years that the Lord would open a door for us to be back on the cross-cultural mission and He did! Last July of 2024 me and my wife went back to Cambodia and we are so excited about what He's going to do in the coming days and years.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth".
As Christ's followers, we have a mandate called the Great Commission. If we look at the need to reach the whole world, it seems overwhelming. But with God as our Commander-in-Chief and as His Church partnering together and marching forward in discipling the nations, all I can say is that our MISSION IS POSSIBLE.
