About Me

I am Sue, and I help people of all ages who are struggling with the daily challenges of living with ADHD, and possibly other conditions. I offer Literacy tuition to all levels - children and adults. Maybe this is you, or someone you are supporting.

As an experienced primary school teacher I have come across many students who have had various negative experiences at school, which has led to truancy, expulsion or being told they'll never amount to anything. Often these students are labelled by schools as badly behaved. The truth is that many of these students are living with daily struggles to find their way in the world.

Perhaps these students have undiagnosed conditions such as dyslexia, autism or ADHD, for example. Maybe diagnoses have been made, but the teachers have a limited understanding of this person's particular conditions.

Learning disabilities often overlap or co-exist with ADHD, making it difficult to pinpoint the actual problem in the classroom. Girls in particular are often unnoticed because they may not present as being physically disruptive, but rather quietly studious.

If you are an adult experiencing difficulties in the workplace or with managing social relationships or simply coping with daily tasks because you can't remember things that need to be done, help is close.

It breaks my heart when I discover the high levels of anxiety these people are experiencing, and this is one of the reasons why I've decided to set up a business where I can offer support to people (of all ages), who may have been diagnosed with ADHD, and possibly other conditions. Working closely with whānau and students struggling with motivation to study or work, has made me realize this is a common, often not acknowledged, issue that often comes down to a lack of understanding by themselves, their family and/or the people within their communities.

It is for this reason that I set up the coaching sessions for people trying to cope with ADHD and study. I offer support through individual coaching and to supplement this, offer digital books for people to use as a guide.
