About Me
Jacob Dupre is a fifth generation musician, composer, content creator, and educator from Baton Rouge, LA with degrees in jazz piano performance from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Texas at Austin. He has performed, collaborated, and recorded with artists such as Lynette Williams (Childish Gambino, will.I.iam), Greyson Nekrutman, Addison Agen (The Voice, 2017), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big, Racer X), Steve Vai, Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee), Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), and Lisa Bella Donna. He has performed with jazz artists and ensembles such as Bill Watrous, Peter Erskine, John Fedchock, Dennis Mackrel, Butch Miles, the Dave Rivello Ensemble, and the 1940s big band the Glenn Miller Orchestra whom he toured with on piano throughout the U.S. and Japan. In 2022, he began playing keyboard with the Zeppelin super group the “Soul Of Zeppelin” along with vocalist Marcus Scott (Tower of Power) and Nick D’Virgilio (Genesis, Tears for Fears). As a content creator, Jacob makes video and written content for various online platforms which have garnered millions of views on his pages and for Sweetwater, the largest online music and pro audio retailer in the U.S. At Sweetwater, Jacob has produced hundreds of gear reviews and educational videos for YouTube, worked as a studio musician in their on-site recording studio, taught piano at the Purdue Music Center, and written articles for InSync and Sweetnotes Magazine.
