Stress management

I had this beautiful coaching session today with a young man who just turned 21. We talked mainly about stress and stressors. 


It boiled down to two key points. 


There is satisfaction and relief in knowing that we have done our best considering the circumstances. We cannot do more than that. 


The other aspect is letting go of what lies outside our control. We cannot control much really in life. Stress management is knowing when to respond and when to let go and accepting what is. 


Even though we actively work with personal growth techniques we still encounter minor setbacks when old thought patterns recur. Learning takes time and so do new habits and the instillation of thought patterns. 


Self-compassion and patience is key.
