About Me

I’m Austin Jochum — strength coach, softball addict, former athlete who refuses to “retire” into dad-bod life, and founder of Jochum Strength. I coach everyday people the same way I train athletes: with intention, curiosity, and a stubborn willingness to keep showing up even when life gets heavy.

I didn’t build JST to sell shortcuts or secret formulas. I built it because I’ve lived the reality most athletes face after sports:

You get older.

Your body gets creaky.

Work, family, stress, and life pile up.

And suddenly you realize you still want to compete — just without feeling like your back is made of expired beef jerky.

So I built a system that makes you strong again in a way that works for real people, not full-time professional athletes. I believe training should build your life, not steal from it. It should make you better at the things that matter — hoisting kids, chasing goals, walking into tournaments confident, and doing dumb athletic stuff with your friends because it’s fun.

My philosophy is simple:

  • Move well.
  • Train hard with purpose.
  • Eat real food.
  • Grow as a person.
  • Show up again tomorrow.

That’s the heart of Just Keep Swinging.

It’s not perfect reps or perfect programs — it’s consistency, growth, and a mindset you choose every day.
