About Me
Justin Rose is an epic fantasy writer from Superior, Wisconsin. Known for his grand stories set in the world of Rehavan, Justin works primarily with novels and audio dramas.
His high fantasy trilogy, First Immortals, is a family saga focused on a family of new immortals and their rise to power in a fantasy world. Its novels range from frontier adventures with fairies, goblins, and magic artefacts to epic quests with gods and monsters to a more grounded tale of civil war and political intrigue. The true heart of the series resides in the relationships between its characters and the weight of their internal struggles. With deep bonds between brothers, close friendships, found family, and explorations of guilt and forgiveness, the series is sure to make you feel deeply for its characters, whether it be the immortal warrior brothers Geuel and Hefthon, their surgeon sister Veil, the brooding demigod Belisari, the drunken fallen fairy, Randiriel, or all the other members of the grand cast.
His full cast audio drama featuring graphic audio sound design and original music, The Fall of Ingway, is set in a time of myth and legend long before the main novel series. It follows a god of death named Ingway who has grown tired of his role as reaper and shepherd of souls, who has grown to love the mortals he is meant to reap. A love story between a god of death and a goddess of mercy, the story revolves around a war between minor city states on earth and the way that war shakes the foundations of heaven.
Nations End, the current running series in Rehavan, is a war story with multiple POVs, moving between the elves of Elisidor and the minotaurs of Gath. Darker and grittier than First Immortals, it asks tough moral questions and forces the reader to decide for themselves who is more justified in a battle with no noblebright hero and no grand dark lord. While not quite grimdark, it is definitely a heavier series than the other works set in Rehavan.
His series Little Tales of Rehavan comprises a growing assortment of novelettes and novellas telling smaller stories of the common folk of Rehavan. Like fairy tales or folk tales, they tell of miners and farmers and the like. They are intimate, close stories, inviting you to view the world of Rehavan from the perspective of the commoners who live there.
