ABOUT ME
My name is Nickeya Chapman aka K. Monique I am a mother of three, a lover of urban books, and a woman who wears a lot of hats, but writing is the one that lets me breathe the easiest. I’ve always been surrounded by people, emotions, and experiences big enough to fill a book, so eventually I decided to start putting those stories that come to my mind based on that on paper. I've always wanted to write the kind of books I’ve always enjoyed reading: real, raw, emotional, a little messy, and full of heart.
Outside of being a new author, my biggest and proudest title is Mom. My children keep me grounded, humbled, laughing, and motivated. Everything I do, I do with them in mind. Family time means everything to me. Whether we’re piled on the couch watching movies, laughing at inside jokes, cooking together, or just enjoying each other’s company those are the moments that refill my spirit. They remind me why love matters and why stories about resilience and loyalty hit so deep. I’m still learning, growing, and evolving as a writer, as a mother, and as a woman.
My goal as an author is simple: to create characters that feel real, stories that feel familiar, and emotions that stay with you long after you close the book. stories that remind people they’re not alone, stories that take them out of their world and drop them straight into mine.
If my words can make someone feel seen, understood, or entertained, then I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do. Thank you for reading my first book, supporting my voice, and giving my characters a place to live. I appreciate every single person who picks up my books.
