Kara (That's Me!)

My son was taken from me during one of the hardest chapters of my life — a chapter where addiction had its hands around my throat and I was fighting to breathe. I didn’t run from it. I didn’t deny it.

I stepped into treatment, completed every requirement, and rebuilt myself piece by piece. I did everything they asked of me, even when I had to do it without the support others were freely given.

Even after all of that, the system never held me the way it held others. Some people were cushioned, guided, protected. I wasn’t. I was expected to climb out alone, without the same safety nets or understanding. That imbalance didn’t disappear — it followed me, and it still shapes where my son is today.

He’s living in an environment that has already shown it can hurt him — physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Not just instability, but real harm. And instead of stepping in, the system looked away. Instead of protecting him, they excused it. Instead of correcting the danger, they let it continue.

The space he’s in now is built around manipulation, fear, and control — a place where power is used to keep people small and quiet. It’s an environment shaped by someone with a long, well‑known history of destructive behavior: criminal patterns, drug involvement, and physical harm toward others, including me.

These aren’t rumors. They aren’t exaggerations. They’re the kind of patterns everyone saw, everyone knew about, and everyone chose to ignore. And my son is the one paying the price for that negligence.

My son is trapped in the fallout of years of system failures — failures that protected the wrong person, punished the wrong parent, and left a child in the hands of someone whose behavior has repeatedly proven dangerous.

I’m raising my own resources to finish the legal process and bring him back home — back to the stability I fought for, back to the mother who took responsibility, healed, and refuses to stop fighting for him.

Supporting this mission means helping correct a long‑standing imbalance and giving my son the chance to return to a home built on accountability, recovery, and real love, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all!
