Meditation is known for it's calming effects, but what isn't brought up often enough is that listening to a guided meditation or hypnosis soundtrack can bring up uncomfortable emotions sometimes... This is a good sign that a block is being cleared and change is happening underneath the surface.
So when these emotions arise during meditation, or any time throughout the day, here are some steps you can follow to manage these symptoms...
The F.E.A.A.R. Emotional Processing System
F- Feel into your body- Locate the area of discomfort… simply notice without judgement.
E- Enhance the discomfort- Let your body know you're ready to listen and allow the emotion to surface while holding space with compassionate awareness… no more suppressing, avoiding or distracting yourself… Only presence.
A- Accept the discomfort for what it is- a messaging signal asking to be felt and acknowledged and a part of you that needs compassion and care.
A- Appreciate- Enter a state of gratitude for your body’s wisdom and enduring strength.
R- Release- Notice any attachments or areas you are still holding tension and consciously let them go… as you do, the positive emotions that were blocked by the discomfort will arise naturally.
These steps will come fluently the more you practice them and can be applied to unwanted cravings and physical discomfort as well. Hypnosis and guided meditations bring many benefits, restoring balance and clarity to the mind, body and soul... Trust your intuition and take your time as the healing unfolds.
