Hi, I’m Lara Alami — a mezzo-soprano, voice teacher, and composer based in the Detroit area. I create choral music that connects deeply with singers and audiences through expressive text setting, lyrical lines, and meaningful themes.

My work is inspired by my background in vocal performance and pedagogy, and by a deep love for language, harmony, and the human voice. I strive to write music that is singable, emotionally resonant, and accessible for a range of choirs — from community ensembles to professional groups.
