As the name suggests, I am a late starter to FIRE 🔥 I discovered the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) movement when I was 47. That is just a tad older than the average person who is pursuing FIRE, many of whom aim to retire early at 30 or 40 years old.
I am proof that it is never too old to start your FIRE journey. I now have a plan to retire at 55 and am no longer anxious about my retirement. This is a far cry from the me who woke up in a cold sweat at 47, terrified of having to work for the next 20 years in a highly stressful job.Â
