I am Laura Callaghan, a mixed media eco-feminist artist, and my work is deeply rooted in celebrating nature’s resilience and beauty. I blend traditional and experimental techniques to explore the intricate relationships between the environment and human experiences. My commitment to eco-feminism is central to my art, reflected in my use of sustainable materials and themes that highlight the interconnectedness of ecological and social justice.
In my creative process, I focus on sustainability and the power of art as a tool for environmental advocacy. I often incorporate found objects, natural materials and organic textures to create immersive works that resonate on both visual and emotional levels. Through my art, I aim to challenge viewers to rethink their relationship with nature, fostering a deeper respect and sense of responsibility towards the environment.
In this course, I will be sharing my methodologies and philosophies with you. We’ll be integrating eco-friendly practices and materials into your projects and, together, we’ll explore how to create meaningful art that not only reflects the beauty of the coastal environment but also promotes sustainability and environmental awareness.
