🌿 How to Use This Pack Digitally (Month After Month)
You don’t need any special software or online tools to use this pack electronically. You can save a fresh copy each month and reuse it as your calm, simple MTD system.
Step 1: Save Your Master Copy
After you download this pack, save a clean master file somewhere easy to find, such as:
📁 Documents → MTD Childminder
📁 Desktop → MTD Folder
Rename it: MTD Master Copy.pdf
This keeps a blank version you can reuse every month.
Step 2: Create Your Monthly Copy
At the start of each month:
- Right‑click the master file
- Click Copy
- Click Paste
- Rename the new file, for example:
- MTD – April 2026.pdf
This is the file you’ll use and complete for that month.
Step 3: Open & Complete
Open your monthly file and:
✔ Tick the checklists
✔ Type notes into text boxes (if using a fillable version)
✔ Save as you go
Step 4: Store for Your Records
Keep each month’s file in the same folder. Over time, this builds a clear digital record of your MTD compliance if HMRC ever asks how you’ve been keeping your records.
Optional: Simple Quarterly Folder System
You may find it helpful to organise your files like this:
📁 MTD Records
📁 Q1 (Apr–Jun)
📁 Q2 (Jul–Sep)
📁 Q3 (Oct–Dec)
📁 Q4 (Jan–Mar)
Save each monthly file into the correct quarter folder.
Helpful Tip
If your PDF doesn’t allow typing into boxes, you can still:
✔ Use the Notes or Comment tool in your PDF viewer
✔ Or print the page and complete it by hand
Both methods are perfectly fine for your own records.
