About Me

Mark has spent over three decades in the technology industry, across sales, channel management, partnerships, and leadership. He has worked through several waves of industry change, and AI is one he found himself reaching for daily before he had fully worked out what it was for.

This book came out of that experience: the gap between the AI hype and the reality of putting these tools to work in an ordinary working week. He wrote it for the people he has spent his career alongside – busy, capable professionals who have no interest in becoming AI experts but would be very happy to have an extra hour back each day.

He also wrote it for the people who are a little afraid of AI. The scaremongering has been loud enough that plenty of capable people have held back long enough for it to feel intimidating rather than like just another tool. It needn't be. Everything new is unsettling before it's understood, and AI is more misunderstood than most.

It's also here to stay – and across several technology shifts, Mark has watched what happens to people who wait too long to engage with the next one.
