This time it was China first, then Japan - a mix of ancient alleys, strong humidity, and so much local food that I kept eating even when I really shouldn't have.
Two little travelers came along for this one: stickers of Aether with Xiao, and Aether with Red Xiao, taking turns showing up wherever I stopped long enough to set them down. Here's where they ended up. 😊
After spending some time in Guangzhou we headed to the next city via airport and it surprised me a lot. It's huge: one of the more pleasant airports I've been in, with enough space to chill and charge devices without fighting for a place to sit. Ended up sitting with a McDonald's cappuccino and ofcource drawing while waiting for the flight.
Chengdu's old city was next - humid enough to make me question my life choices, but worth every sticky minute. Picked up a bottle of Asmantus wine while wandering (if you know, you know 😉) right before hurrying up to the Shuyanfu performance.
It was a bit too late for any serious sightseeing in Shenzhen and we were very tired so we went to the Window of the World park. Two swans had absolutely no shame about eating straight out of my hand there.
Then Japan. Landed in Sapporo and went straight from the airport to fluffy pancakes, because priorities. Hokkaido met us with a different kind of weather - cool air after Chengdu's heat felt like a reward but not for long. I was prepared for 16-18C but never for 12-14 and later had to buy myself warm pants.
Killed some time before the bus to Hakodate at a big mall factory-like mall where I tried 10 kinds of cream buns.
Last photo is at ropeway station up in the mountains - cold, rainy, and not exactly pleasant for sightseeing , not what you can't fix with a can of melon sake.
