Having spent years battling my demons and healing from my past, I decided it was time to help others do the same!

 

I’ve created a course that blends creative writing with emotional healing. The course aims to help you let go of the past by taking control of your own story and rewriting your future.

Healing Through Creative Writing is a very powerful tool for anyone who is:


·      Going through trauma,

·      Experiencing mental health issues,

·      Or struggling to come to terms with past actions. 

 

This twofold course focuses on using your creative skills as part of your healing journey.

At the end of the course, you will produce a magical piece of creative writing to do with whatever you wish.


Throughout the course, you will:

·      Be asked to journal about your feelings,

·      Keep a writer’s notebook,

·      Undertake a variety of exercises and tasks.


Tasks include breathing, automatic writing and writing prompts, based on self-healing.

This course is self led so please go through the course in your own way.


What You Will Need

·      A journal or notebook,

·      Writers Notebook (separate from your journal),

·      Pen/Pencil,

·      Post-it notes,

·      An open mind,

·      Time to dedicate to yourself to do the exercises throughout this series, even if it's only 10 minutes per day.

Course Outcomes

About Me

My name is Lisa M Billingham.


I am an author, inspirational speaker, and workshop facilitator. I'm also a wellbeing coach.


In 2020, I wrote my debut novel, Katie, A New Chapter, a self-help work of fiction based on my life experiences with poor mental health, domestic abuse, and major surgery. Katie proves her resilience and makes friends along the way (A bit like I did.) I am proud to say this book has helped to save a life. 


I found the writing process so cathartic and enjoyable that I continued pursuing my passion and published four further fiction books: 

Tom, The Next Chapter, Falling in Love at 40, Sedrick's Adventures in Hopeland and Charlie Gold.

I have also released the audio version of Katie, A New Chapter, narrated by me.

 

As an inspirational speaker, I openly share my story and speak on topics including but not limited to:


  • Developing good mental wellness,
  • Being your authentic self,
  • Building your confidence.


My talks are interactive, so make sure you have a pen and a piece of paper.


And of course, I run this workshop face-to-face or via video link.


In my spare time, I love to walk, write and read.
