About Me

Hi, I'm Jessica 👋

I'm 35, born and raised in Newmarket, Ontario — a small-town girl who never quite pictured herself where I ended up, but wouldn't change a thing about how we got here.

Ten years ago I met the love of my life, and a few years into the pandemic we made the leap to Thunder Bay, chasing a slower, simpler kind of life. We landed in a new town with three kids and not a single familiar face. I stayed home to hold things together while my husband worked hard to build our new life.

After three years in Thunder Bay, we packed up again and moved even further north, to a tiny town called Gorham — just 35 minutes outside the city. It was there, surrounded by more land and a lot more quiet, that something clicked: I needed to be with my kids, not just raise them around a school schedule.

So we pulled them out of school. We started a small homestead. And we began building a life around the values we actually want to hand down to our children — faith, hard work, self-reliance, and a lot of time outdoors.

This is our little corner of the world: little boots, big land, and a family figuring it out together. 🌾
