I love teaching patchwork and sharing the joy of quilting. I believe that patchwork courses are not only about learning but also having fun, inspiration and making positive changes in someone's life.
I have been quilting for 25 years, and I have been teaching patchwork and quilting for half of these years.
Since my childhood I always had a great interest in craft and I learned very early to sew, embroider, knit and crochet. In 1998 I was introduced to patchwork and I immediately fell in love with it. I attended several patchwork and quilting classes by acclaimed teachers to improve my designing skills, sewing and quilting by hand and machine to the highest standards.
My "official" quilting career started in 2007, when Marybeth Tawfik, Leslie Carol Taylor, and I set up North Sea Quilters in The Netherlands.I continued teaching patchwork and quilting when I moved to Hungary and founded the Budapest Quilt Studio
.I live in the UK now. I set up MB Quilt Studio with my friend, Barbara Dornyi, to teach online patchwork and quilting classes.
The "Little Amsterdam" quilt along was my first online event in 2023. Quilters from all over the world made the quilt by following my step-by-step tutorial videos.
I'm very passionate about helping people to reach their potentials and teaching patchwork courses allows me to achieve that.
I enjoy developing bespoke course materials, especially with special challenges, like teaching three different levels in the same class or combining several techniques in one project. I'm very particular about giving a good foundation, paying special attention to each student to learn the techniques properly and to achieve confidence in their work.
Having lived in several countries and worked with people of different nationalities, I enjoy being in a multinational environment and supporting people who study English as a Second language, as I understand their difficulties. I'm patient and supportive and like to provide a safe and caring environment for my students.
