About Me
MEET THE MAN BEHIND MD FITNESS πͺπ³
Matt Davis | Personal Trainer | Online Coach | Strength Athlete | Former Professional Chef
From the kitchen to the gym, my passion has always been about helping people get the best out of themselves!
Before stepping into the fitness industry, I spent over 13 years working as a professional chef, developing my skills, experimenting with flavours and creating meals that people genuinely enjoyed.
Food has always been a massive part of my life, and one thing I've learned over the years is that good nutrition doesn't have to mean boring food!
But my journey didn't stop in the kitchen.
My passion for strength training, fitness and pushing my own limits eventually led me down a completely different career path.
I've competed in both Strongman in the Under 105kg category and Powerlifting in the 105kg weight class, experiencing firsthand the discipline, dedication and consistency required to develop strength, improve performance and prepare for competition.
These experiences gave me a deeper understanding of how important training, recovery and nutrition are, not just for competitive athletes but for anyone looking to improve their health and fitness.
FROM CHEF TO FITNESS PROFESSIONAL
Today, I work as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at Towcester Centre for Leisure, alongside running my own personal training and online coaching business, MD Fitness PT & Online Coaching.
I'm a qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer and Aqua Aerobics Instructor, with additional knowledge in Level 4 Nutrition and Level 4 Strength & Conditioning.
My experience covers everything from gym-based training and personalised strength programmes to group fitness, aqua aerobics, functional fitness and online coaching.
My goal is simple: to help everyday people become stronger, healthier, fitter and more confident in themselves.
Whether that's losing body fat, building muscle, improving strength, developing fitness or simply feeling better physically and mentally, I believe everyone deserves a realistic approach to achieving their goals.
I believe that fitness should be challenging, enjoyable and, most importantly, sustainable.
You don't have to train like a professional athlete or live on chicken, rice and broccoli to see results!
You just need the right guidance, consistency and a plan that works around your lifestyle.
WHERE FITNESS MEETS FOOD! π³πͺ
And that's exactly where this recipe book comes in!
I've taken my 13+ years of experience as a professional chef, combined it with my knowledge of nutrition, strength training and personal training, and brought everything together in one place.
This book is a collection of recipes I've cooked, experimented with, developed and fine-tuned over the years.
They're meals I genuinely enjoy making and eating, with a focus on balancing great flavours, practical ingredients and nutritional value.
Each recipe includes an estimated nutritional breakdown covering:
CALORIES | PROTEIN | CARBOHYDRATES | FATS
This makes it easier to understand what you're eating, track your macros and make informed choices that support your individual fitness goals.
Whether you're looking to lose body fat, build muscle, maintain your weight or simply enjoy healthier meals, this book is designed to show you that nutrition doesn't need to be complicated.
MY PHILOSOPHY
One thing I always try to get across to my clients is that you shouldn't have to give up everything you enjoy to achieve your goals.
You can still eat delicious food.
You can still enjoy meals with your family.
You can still have the occasional takeaway.
And you can absolutely achieve fantastic results without following some ridiculously restrictive diet!
It's about understanding calories, learning how to balance your nutrition and developing habits you can maintain long-term.
Training is an important part of the journey, but what you do outside the gym matters just as much.
Nutrition, recovery, sleep and consistency all play a massive role in achieving results.
And when it comes to food, having spent over 13 years working in professional kitchens, I can confidently say one thing:
HEALTHY FOOD DOESN'T HAVE TO TASTE LIKE CARDBOARD!
WHY I CREATED THIS BOOK
I wanted to create something that brought together everything I've learned throughout my career.
Not just as a Personal Trainer.
Not just as a competitive Strongman and Powerlifter.
Not just as a Fitness Instructor or Aqua Aerobics Instructor.
But also as someone who spent over a decade working professionally with food.
This book represents the combination of those experiences.
It's about helping people understand that you can fuel your body properly, work towards your fitness goals and still enjoy every mouthful.
Because ultimately, the best nutrition plan isn't the most restrictive one.
It's the one you can enjoy, stick to and make part of your everyday life.
So whether you're one of my personal training clients, someone following my online coaching or simply someone looking for some tasty, macro-friendly meal ideas, I hope this book helps you enjoy your food while working towards your goals.
Get yourself in the kitchen, give the recipes a go and don't be afraid to experiment!
GOOD FOOD. SMART TRAINING. REAL RESULTS.
TRACK YOUR MACROS. SMASH YOUR GOALS. ENJOY YOUR FOOD!
Happy cooking!
