About MakedaSoul
ππ Based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, I am a lawyer and educator with degrees from Wayne State University Law School and the University of Maastricht, where I taught Dutch Criminal Law and Procedure in Dutch. By day I navigate complex questions of justice; by passion, I reweave ancient legends into stories of magic, power, and hard-won voice.
My earlier work, the picture book Makeda: The Soul of Sheba (2023), explored themes of destiny and inner strength. I am now writing for adults: an upmarket historical fantasy novel that expands Makedaβs journey into a grounded retelling of the Queen of Sheba meeting King Solomonβcomplete with shamanic gifts, political betrayal, and the dangerous cost of forbidden power.
On Instagram (@makedasoul1), my reels have generated millions of views and built an engaged following of over 20,000, with strong resonance among Middle Eastern, African, and Indian communities.
