Timothy Courts, affectionately known as “Timmy,” is a cornerstone of West Virginia’s music scene, celebrated for over two decades of soulful performances and masterful musicianship. Born and raised in Charleston, his musical journey began in local churches, where his early gift for rhythm as a drummer evolved into a deeper passion for melody when he transitioned to the organ at age 13. His exceptional talent led him to perform with legendary jazz organist Winston Walls and study under jazz pianist Bob Thompson, experiences that shaped his artistry and took him onto international stages alongside acclaimed musicians such as Marion Meadows, Dwayne Dolphin, and Larry Coryell.

Blending gospel soul, jazz sophistication, and heartfelt emotion, Timothy’s sound reflects both his technical brilliance and spiritual depth. For more than a decade, he has served as Minister of Music at Abundant Life Ministries, inspiring his community through both performance and mentorship.
