About me

Mark Richards

Hey, I'm Mark Richards a Shropshire based photographer in the UK. I am obsessed with capturing landscapes - I live and breath it!

My photography journey exploded back in 2010, and I've been a full-time landscape shooter since 2020.

While I've dabbled in headshots and commercial gigs, my heart truly belongs to crafting fine art landscape photos. My interest for Photography and video editing go way back to the 80's where I picked up my first Hanimex 35mm camera, so visual storytelling is a big part of who I am.

Philosophy

For me, it's all about being out in nature and capturing the full spectrum of landscapes. One day it might be a magical Milky Way shot, the next an epic vista, or a calm, atmospheric forest scene. I love playing with the entire emotional range, from peaceful serenity to dramatic awe.

I'm also a firm believer that the shot isn't finished in-camera. Editing is where the magic truly happens, where the image comes alive and the mood I felt in the moment takes its final form.

Inspiration

Inspiration hits me everywhere, but I'm especially drawn to the raw beauty of the Shropshire countryside and mid Wales.

Places I would like visit in the future are Iceland, Norway and Netherlands, balanced by the serene, soft, almost dreamlike vibes of forests, Lochs and mountains in Scotland.
