Marty Weiss

Upon graduating Arizona State University with a B.A. in English in 1987, Marty Weiss founded Entertainment Relations, a publicity firm representing actors and directors and assisting unit publicists. As President of Entertainment Relations for three years, Weiss combined writing and entertainment experience to create a majority of Carolco Pictures’ feature film pitches (including Arnold Schwarzenegger’s TOTAL RECALL) for the 1988 American Film Market and compose production notes/biographies for numerous feature film press kits including RAMBO III and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.  A personal triumph in October 1989, Weiss assisted coordinating publicity for the 44-Year Reunion of the FIRST MOTION PICTURE UNIT OF THE ARMY/AIR FORCE; attendees included President Ronald Reagan with wife Nancy, Hal Roach Sr. and, entertaining the troops, Bob Hope.

Looking to expand his horizons, Weiss landed multiple options on one screenplay, assisted casting horror films and acted in commercials, television programs and motion pictures.  He also founded the Entertainment Talent Source, a variety entertainment company specializing in providing top line performers for every kind of event from awards shows to birthday parties and an occasional on-camera appearance.

With his strong background placing entertainers in numerous projects, Weiss transitioned to talent manager in 1997. Serving as owner/talent coordinator of a management/production company for 14 years, he represented actors for all aspects of entertainment projects and personal appearances.  His clients worked in countless movies and television shows impressing many stars with their talents and professionalism.  Weiss’ clients shared the screen with Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Peter Fonda, Louis Gossett, Jr., Mira Sorvino, Edward Norton, Jennifer Garner, Michael Chiklis, Drew Carey, David Carradine, Robert Downey Jr., Billy Bob Thornton, Will Ferrell and John Heder to name a few. A list of notable directors and producers who booked Weiss’ clients includes Steven Spielberg, Joel Silver, and Ron Howard.

Weiss’ 2011 arrest for engaging in improper sex with a minor ended his entertainment industry career and reunited him with a familiar hobby, the war for civil rights. During the late 80s and early 90s, Weiss had participated in numerous functions to promote the queer community. He participated in protests and marches that shut down Sunset Blvd., Santa Monica Blvd., and other iconic Los Angeles locations. Today, he helps organizations fight unconstitutional laws that hinder the abilities of sex offender registrants to rehabilitate in a hateful society. He participates in legal actions and speaks at events promoting fairness and logic in justice as it applies to the Registry. Weiss currently seeks a publisher for both his autobiography and his incarceration diary (a first of its kind) that will open society’s eyes to issues affecting a community that is just beginning to battle for logical legal and social justice.

When out of the office, Weiss is an avid sports follower and enjoys moviegoing and collecting vintage film memorabilia.
