About The Author

Mikel L. Mays is a dynamic entrepreneur, artist, and community leader based in the Chicagoland area. He is the Founder & CEO of Mays Enterprise, a multi-division organization focused on leadership development, business growth, and community impact, and the Founder of the Mays Music Centre of Excellence, a nonprofit dedicated to making high-quality music education affordable and accessible to all. In addition, serves as the Marketing & Business Development Manager for ShonCo Enterprises, a family of construction companies, including BlackRock & LiveWire Construction and LiveWire Energy.

A North Central College graduate in Music and Entrepreneurship, Mikel has been recognized as a Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce “Four Under 40” honoree for his leadership across business, construction, and the arts.

Alongside his work in business and nonprofit leadership, he is also an artist and songwriter, and serves in project and business development roles within the construction industry while continuing to expand ventures under Mays Enterprise LLC.

Mikel’s work is rooted in a simple mission: to build opportunities, empower people through education and creativity, and help others turn vision into reality.
