Hi, I am so glad you decided to take the first steps towards a healthier and happier you. My name is Michelle and I'm a 31 year old single mum from Queensland, Australia. I'm a Registered Clinical Nurse specialising in Orthopaedics. My fitness journey started 9 years ago when I started weight training and competed in my first body building competitions. I spent many years on restrictive diets, excessive training and poor life balance. When I became pregnant with my daughter I had a high-risk pregnancy and was unable to weight train or exercise. I gained 20kg and after giving birth struggled to feel like myself again. Being a new mum and a single mum at that, time and energy were huge factors in me being able to return to training. I think sometimes we complicate things and I decided to kept it simple. Do the basics well and as often as I could. I had a goal of 4 training days a week with non-negotiable of 2 days. I think having a non-negotiable is important so no matter what, you give yourself those days. I started with 4 days a week, 2 upper & 2 lower split. I found though that 3 full body days combined with some cardio was more realistic for long-term results and very doable even as a busy mum. That's where the Busy Girl's Blitz came from. I wanted to create a training plan that was not only effective but achievable. No good buying a 5 day program if you can never actually commit to those days. You don't have to be extreme, just consistent.
