Hi, , I’m Chris, and this is the NEW home of Moldiwarts Scripts.
The name ‘Moldiwarts’ comes from one of my favourite characters from one of my favourite scripts. He is an evil villain but has some of the best jokes and one-liners and is actually quite likeable. You are never sure where you are with him.
I am a huge fan of classic TV and radio comedy from the UK, including Round The Horne, Hancock, Steptoe & Son, Monty Python, Are You Being Served, I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, Dads Army and many many more. These, and more, have been an inspiration to me since I was a kid.
There is also the slapstick/wacky elements or Laurel and Hardy, Vic and Bob, Buster Keaton, Mrs Browns Boys, and the Carry On films (yes, old and new, classic and contemporary) that I admire, and those elements of visual comedy are always evident in the best pantomimes. The visual comedy is just as important, if not more, than the verbal.
I have never wanted to be in the spotlight. I would much rather promote live music or work behind a mixing desk than be up on stage in front of people. Likewise, I absolutely love watching a group of talented actors perform a script that I have spent time writing, hearing the audience laugh in all the right places, and applauding at the end of a scene.
The scripts on this site are a labour of love. The Pantomime scripts are silly, funny, witty and full of bad jokes, one liners and an almost coherent plot … just like panto should be.
Thanks for reading. I hope you like what you find here.
