About The Author

Josh Gilliard is the founder of Money Talks Media, a platform dedicated to making financial literacy practical, relatable, and accessible for everyone.

Josh earned his MBA in Finance from UNC Charlotte after graduating from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte with a degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management.

His career journey has taken him through the restaurant industry, corporate finance roles at Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and other financial services companies, and now into entrepreneurship — building a media company that bridges the gap between financial theory and real-life money moves.

Having faced over $250,000 in personal and student debt, setbacks from failed ventures, and plenty of painful financial lessons, Josh uses his story to teach others how to avoid the same traps. His mission is to equip people with the tools and mindset to thrive financially, even when the system doesn’t hand them the blueprint.

When he’s not creating content or speaking at universities and community events, Josh enjoys basketball, family time, and working on the long-term vision for Money Talks Media (including a future fintech app designed to help underserved communities gain control of their money).
