MoonHowler Press came into being in 2001 with the original publication of Steven E. Wedel's Call to the Hunt, at that time a saddle-stapled chapbook of five stories given away as a promotional tool.

It wasn't until 2013, when Wedel was frustrated with the genre press situation -- having had multiple presses go under or fail to pay -- that MoonHowler Press stepped into the arena of e-books, print, and audio publishing. The first book was Wedel's popular novella Murdered by Human Wolves.

Today, MoonHowler Press is an exclusive publisher working with only three authors.
