Beyond: A Companion App (Recent Patch)

BEYOND: A Companion App

This latest update focused on making the website feel more like a real tabletop session, especially in Campaign Mode. We put a lot of attention into GM flow, multiplayer reliability, combat clarity, map consistency, and overall UI polish so the experience feels smoother whether you’re playing solo, running a table, or adventuring with friends online.

**As a reminder, this is for the paid version of the website**

Campaign Mode and Multiplayer

  • Campaign flow has been refined to better support a real shared-table experience.
  • Shared exploration and combat state are more consistent across players.
  • Map, travel, and combat handoffs have been cleaned up so party members stay better aligned during session flow.
  • Shared-area join behavior has been improved across the major world spaces.
  • Ready-check, authority, and table-state syncing received another stability pass.

Combat Improvements

  • Combat flow in Campaign Mode has been pushed closer to a true GM-led encounter structure.
  • Enemy, scene, and shared combat state syncing received additional refinement.
  • Distance, range, and shared combat updates have been improved for smoother multiplayer combat resolution.
  • Combat/VTT flow has been adjusted so scene setup, combat control, and table visibility are clearer and more reliable.
  • Ongoing work has continued around making GM prompts, player actions, and shared enemy state feel more natural at the table.

World and Exploration Consistency

  • Continued consistency passes were made across exploration systems so rolls, prompts, and encounter logic feel clearer and more uniform.
  • Province standards have continued to inform cleanup across other map experiences.
  • Additional work went into edge-case traversal, event permutations, and exploration smoke coverage.
  • Narrative and encounter flows in several world layers received follow-up polish and validation.

Music and Table Atmosphere

  • Campaign soundtrack behavior received stability work.
  • Table music and ambience handling were refined to reduce interruption and reset issues during live play.
  • This helps the site better support mood-setting during GM-led sessions.

UI and Quality-of-Life Polish

  • The top-level shell received a fresh UX pass.
  • Save/sync state is now easier to read at a glance.
  • Settings presentation has been cleaned up and feels more polished in use.
  • Intro/entry flow collisions were reduced so onboarding and active play tools stop fighting each other visually.
  • Settings now behave more smoothly during repeated use, including better tab continuity and cleaner panel behavior.
  • General UI polish continued across the app to reduce friction and make the site easier to navigate during play.

Testing and Stability

  • More smoke coverage was added around campaign travel, combat sync, exploration flow, and world permutations.
  • Several recent passes focused specifically on stability, race conditions, and shared-state reliability.
  • The goal of this update was not just adding features, but making the whole experience feel cleaner, steadier, and more table-ready.
